Merry Christmas - Happy Holidays!

How is your holiday prep coming along? I'm almost done - just a few more gifts to wrap and a couple of CD calendars to put together. I'm so very excited to see my kids excitement about Christmas. We have already planned what we will be making for our "happy bithday to Jesus" birthday cake and the girls are very excited about that. Of course they are super excited about Santa coming and bringing gifts for them.

They threw Santa a curve ball this year though. We had talked about what they would like Santa to bring them, and when they went to see Santa - they asked for totally different things! So I'm certain that Santa and his elves had to put in some overtime to make sure the girls got some of the things they asked for - YIKES!!! Poor Santa - I'm sure that he thought he had everything ready early this year, lol!

Even with the busy holiday preparations I had a little bit of time to make up a Christmas kit for my loyal customers! I hope that you like it! You can grab it in my shop at ScrapMatters.com. I'm also having a sale from now until the end of the year. Just use this code: happy_thanks_09 to get 25% off of all of my products. You can use it as many times as you would like between now and 12/31/09.

I hope that everyone has safe and happy holidays! Merry Christmas!

Curvaceous Templates and Text Paths & Freebie!

I don't know about all of you, but December completely snuck up on me! I'm feeling more than a bit disorganized lately- trying to get the holiday preparations in order. I've got a good start on my shopping and a budget laid out - so I can't figure out exactly why I'm feeling this way. I DO still need to work on my Christmas Cards & get the girls picture taken for Christmas - so maybe that is why. I think I need a list - I'm totally a list person, lol.

I have been designing like crazy lately. I've got some new products in my shop again today! My CT did such a great job showing them off! Since this post is SUPER long, I'll only put a few here and you can see the rest in the shop....

Black Friday. Sale! Sale!

Happy Black Friday everyone!

For those of you that don't know what Black Friday is - here in the US, it is the Friday after our Thanksgiving where retailers have HUGE sales to kick off the Christmas shopping season. They claim that it is when their stores profits go from red (loss) to black - and they make a profit. It is an absolutely insane day of shopping, we usually start at 3:00 am and come home with a car full of gifts. I LOVE Black Friday! If you want to read about one of my FUNNY Black Friday moments - check out this post from 2 years ago.

I am SUPER excited to tell you that SM is celebrating Black Friday in a BIG way! The sales are going to be even bigger than on DSD! Don't worry though, you won't have to get up super early, and fight the crowds - no eldery women swinging their handbags at ya!

AND I have a BRAND new Grab Bag for DSD. It's only available for a limited time, so grab it quick!!!

In need of some Template Action?

I am SO excited about my product release today! I have two brand new tools that will be HUGE timesavers (not to mention boredom-busters) for designers & template makers!

Before I show you this first product - I just wanted to share a few things that my product testers said about it:

* "I love this Happy, its going to be an invaluable tool!!"

* Okay Happy, this is one freakin' AWESOME action. My gosh, this is wonderful. What took me almost an hour the other night was done in a matter of seconds! Now I can make more templates...yipee!

* ...it worked like a charm. Seriously what a great product!!!

* This is FANTASTIC! Templates will be SO much easier. I used to make them then barely do anything with them because I hated the process of saving .png files and I didn't want to list without the files... NOW I'm going to have tons of them up in my store :D

Those are pretty good reviews - don't you think? Are you ready to see what it is?

PNG Layer Saver Action by Happy Scrap Girl Designs

Template designers now have a quick and easy way to save their layered psd templates as individual png files! You can save up to 60 layers quickly!

This action will take a layered psd template and create a 600x600 pixel preview of your template. It will then save EACH layer of your template as an individual png file. Each png will be named numerically starting at "_01".

There are 4 actions included in this set. Included actions allow you to choose from 15, 30, 45 or 60 layers. Don't worry if your template doesn't have exactly that number of layers. Just choose the action with the closest number of layers (without going under). The action will simply continue to run the number of layers assigned to it - you can easily delete the extra layers from the saved folder.

Another great time saving feature? The action will remove any drop shadow styles from each layer before saving it - so you don't have to!

This action has been tested in Photoshop 7, PSCS1.0-4.0 and PSE 4.0 - 8.0. This is NOT Mac compatible.

It's a great way to offer more options for your products and increase your customer base - include those that need pngs for their software!

I also have another new action in my shop today - PNG Trimmer Action

This is a must have tool for any designer! This PNG Trimmer action will trim off the wasted space around your png elements & alphas - making your files smaller and zips quicker for your customers to download!

The PNG trimmer will take your open png and with the click of a button, it will add a small stroke around your element. Next it will trim away the excess space around your element and then remove the stroke style. Photoshop users can even use the Batch process and this action to trim all the pngs in their kit at once!

As a bonus, I've included an action that will add a stroke style to your png. You can use this to find stray pixels - just erase them (with the stroke on) and then remove the stroke. I know that some software programs do include this feature, but earlier versions of PSE do not offer a removable stroke layer style.

Ok now that you've heard me ramble - I thought you deserve a treat! I made a template for you - and I used my new action to create the png files :-)

Click the image for the link - the password is happy

Some of my WONDERFUL CT members made some free templates for you today - and included png layers (using my new action!). Thanks Ladies! Be sure to stop by their blogs to grab them!

Most Magical Winner Announced!

Just popping in really quick to announce the winner of my $10 GC to my shop...

The lucky winner is Nikki O ! Thanks everyone for playing along & all of the sweet comments - Nikki - your GC is on it's way!

On Friday I needed a little scrap therapy! I actually scrapped 3 LO's, but I can't show you 2 of them yet! But I can show you this. There is this really fun & easy hybrid challenge this month at SM - called Dazzeling Decor. Kim (a hybrid goddess) has created a fun template to make luminaries using vellum paper (or even thin printer paper). The very same day I saw that challenge, I saw this fabulous new kit from Ro (aka Man in the Moon Designs) and decided that I MUST make some of the luminaries with the kit.

Isn't this kit fun???? - Check out that witch - isn't she fun?

I had SO much fun with the kit that after I made the luminaries - I decided to scrap about it too! The hybrid project was SO quick & easy - you should totally try it out! It only took me about 10 minutes to do all of it (well I had a break in between - my ink took forever to dry, LOL!). The photos stink, but the project is really cute - I've already had 3 people ask me to make some for them!

It's actually pretty funny that I even made them at all. DH does not allow me to decorate for Halloween - because I love all the cute & pretty things and he says - HALLOWEEN is NOT CUTE - IT'S SCARY! So he decorates our front lawn like a graveyard and plays spooky music. He's toned it down a bit since the girls got big enough to understand it all. It tends to scare away the little ones though. I actually am not a big fan of halloween - and I totally blame him! He scares away all the cute little kids and only the big kids - you know - the ones that really shouldn't be trick-or-treating anymore - still come to the house. Most of them are not in costume and rarely say thanks. I think that is so rude! But I do like everything else about the day - up until the rude big kids come around, LOL!

Last year I had so much fun because we threw our first kids halloween party. The girls each got to invite 2 friends and we bobbed for apples, played games, did a craft and decorated cupcakes. THAT was fun. This year one of our neighbors decided to do the party (she beat me to it!) so that should be fun too.

OK peeps - it's late and I'm rambling now. Have a great night!

A Most Magical Little Pixie

I'm trying hard to get settled in to our fall routine. I now have 2 1/2 hours a week with no children! It's been a long time since I've been alone in my house and I have to tell you it's a bit strange. Both girls are loving their new schools and always have lots of things to tell me about when they get home. I'm still trying to decide what to do with my "me time", LOL! I SHOULD work out, but this week I designed :-) I think I'll have to schedule the gym on my calendar for next week!

Here are a few of the new things I've been working on this week...

I also have a little freebie for you today. This word art was created using "A Most Magical Alpha". It would be great to scrap magical vacations, everyday magical moments or it could even be fun for some Halloween LO's!

Oh yes, one more thing - anyone who leaves a comment on this post will be entered into a drawing for a $10 Gift Certificate to my shop! Drawing will be held on 10/2/09. Don't forget to leave a way for me to contact you if you are the winner!!

Thanks for stopping by!
